The Effects of 3,3`,4,4`-Benzophenone-Tetracarboxylic Dianhydride (BPDA) as a Chain Extender on Properties of Poly (ethylene terephthalate)/Poly (ethylene-co-acrylic acid) (PET/PEAA) Blends. |
초록 |
This study deals with the preparation of PET/PEAA blends via reactive extrusion and solid-state polymerization. Besides, possibility of additional chain extension by incorporation of BPDA without solid-state polymerization was examined. Poly (ethylene terephthalate)/Poly (ethylene-co-acrylic acid) (PET/PEAA) blends were prepared by employing reactive extrusion. The effect of post solid-state polymerization (SSP) and/or the introduction of 3,3`,4,4`-Benzophenone-tetracarboxylic dianhydride (BPDA) on the molecular weight and physical properties of PET/PEAA blends were investigated using dynamic oscillatory viscometer (ARES) and DSC. Resulting PET/PEAA samples exhibited shear thinning with increasing shear frequency, which may be due to the effect of branches. The post-SSP method contributed to improving intrinsic viscosity of 3.7% to 39.0%. Also chain extension of PET with BPDA is a great help to improvement of intrinsic viscosity: due to increasing molecular weight and introducing branches. chain extension is more efficient process than post solid-state polymerization to increasing molecular weight. |
