Silver embedded Water-Soluble Polyfluorene Derivatives |

Water solubility of conjugated polymers may offer many applications. Potential applications of water-soluble conjugated polymers include the light-emitting diode and new materials for hollow-capsule through a layer-by-layer self-assembly technique, and bio- or chemo-sensors. We synthesized water-soluble polyfluorene derivatives by the palladium catalyzed Suzuki coupling reaction. Silver-embedded cationic water-soluble polyfluorene derivatives were prepared by reduction treatment after binding of silver precursor onto amino-terminal groups of polyelectrolytes. The characterization of novel silver embedded cationic water-soluble conjugated polyelectrolyte based on the polyfluorene is discussed. The electrochemical properties and optical properties of silver embedded water-soluble conjugated polyelectrolyte are discussed. We also investigated the device performance using silver embedded water-soluble conjugated polyelectrolyte in organic light-emitting diodes |
