n this study, nickel manganese cobalt(NMC) based lithium-ion batteries have been used to investigate the chrage/discharge chracteristic performance by empolying the constant-current/constant-voltage(CCCV) and CCCV with negative pulse(CCCV-NP) charging protocols. 7 cases of charging methods have been used: 1 case of CCCV and 6 cases of CCCV-NP with different number of negative pulses (160, 80, 40 times) and rest (1, 2 times). Each batteries has been charged and discharged 150 cycles to determine the difference of capacity fading depending on the charging methods. It has been shown that a combination of 40 negative pulses times and 2 rest times has the most positive effect on the performance of the battery. Scanning electron microscope(SEM) analysis of electrode materials revealed that the CCCV-NP technique with 40 negative pulses times and 2 rest times has the smallest degree of deformation of cathode and anode materials. |
