Improvement of membrane filterability of the mixed liquor in a membrane bioreactor by turbulent jet flow system with ozonation |
초록 |
The main problem preventing the widespread use of membrane bioreactors (MBR) for wastewater treatment is membrane fouling. In this study, we proposed ozonation system (Turbulent jet flow contact (TJC) system) as a new method for controlling membrane fouling in MBR. Through a batch test, we found that TJC system was effective in increasing ozone utilization and improving sludge solubilization. In the MBR with the sludge disintegration (TJC system), relatively constant transmembrane pressures (TMPs) could be maintained for twice days while the MBR without disintegration showed an abrupt increase of TMP in the later phase of the operation. |
