Functionalized periodic mesoporous organosilicas (PMOs) were synthesized using the mixture of tetramethyl orthosilicate(TMOS) and organosilanes such as 1,2-bis(trimethoxysilyl)ethane (BTME) and N,N’-bis[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine (BTSPED), which offer the organic bridging groups to the framework wall. The reactions were performed in the presence of Pluronic P123 (EO20-PO70-EO20) as a structure directing agent (SDA) under acidic conditions. To investigate the effects of BTME and BTSPED on the formation of mesostructure, the molar ratio of TMOS to BTME (or BTSPED) was varied from 0 to 1. The incorporation of organic bridging groups was confirmed by XPS. FE-SEM, TEM, SAXS and N2 adsorption were used to gain insight into the morphology and porosities of the materials. |
