Structure tailoring-induced functionalization of nano/microcapsules |

Hybrid particles having designed morphology have been mainly prepared through self-assembling, which is limited and time-consuming. Since metal/semiconductor nanoparticle-embedded polymer composites of various morphologies have numerous potential applications, intensive endeavors on the preparation along with characterization have been poured to date. In particular, metal-polymer hybrids in a shape of bead-on-bead are expected to play a role of precursor that is useful in design of materials useful as energy conversion/storage materials and conducting materials. Due to the sensitive nature of metal nanoparticles, however, few attempts to fabricate a metal nanoparticle-embedded nanohybrid have endowed a successful result to show a function initially intended. We demonstrate a novel synthesis of metal nanoparticle-embedded nanohybrid in an as-wish morphology to provide a designed function via nano/microencapsulation. |
