Preparation and characterization of electrical conductive SiC nano fiber |

Silicon carbide fibers were obtained by electrospinning and carbothermal reduction methods using various ratio solutions of silicon and PAN (polyacrylonitrile). SiC fiber was sintered with escape of other elements like N and H. The samples were characterized by XRD for crystalline properties, SEM for surface morphology, TGA in air for oxygen resistance and probe station for electrical conductivity. The samples show high SiC crystallite, good oxygen resistance as a whole. Specially, electrical conductivity is enhanced with increasing carbon ratio in samples. It seems that samples contained unreacted carbon has electrical conductivity. |
