Amniotic membrane (AM) has been used for various medical applications including wound dressing, because of its facilitating effect on wound healing. However, high cost of AM has limited the commercial usage in medical application. In this study, AM was reconstructed by preparing non-woven matrix through electrospinning of solubilized AM and synthetic polymer. Resulting matrix showed an good mechanical strength and residual growth factors analyzed by measuring b-FGF. The nano-fiber was characterized by SEM and effect of solubilized AM on stimulation of cell proliferation was confirmed by XTT assay. Cytotoxicity of reconstructed AM was evaluated by MTT assay. Resulting reconstructed AM is expected to be an excellent wound dressing. |
