Au nanoparticles-embedded polymer thin film is one of the famous structures for non-volatile memory application. By accumulating charge inside gold nanoparticles, they have the ability to store information. In addition, Poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-trifluoroethylene)(PVDF-TrFE) has been widely investigated for non-volatile ferroelectric polymer memory due to their unique ferroelectric characteristics originated from their permanent dipole between hydrogen and fluorine atoms perpendicular to chain direction. Here, we describe electrical characteristics of capacitors where two polymeric thin films, which are gold nanoparticles embedded polymer and ferroelectric PVDF-TrFE, are sandwitched between two electrodes for non-volatile memory application. The device with bilayer structure exhibits unique electric characteristics where each functional film is operated in different electric field range by controlling of film thickness. |
