Highly sensitive and selective FET-type Hg2+ sensor based on reduced graphene oxide – polyfuran nanocomposites |

We developed the liquid-ion gated field-effect transistor (FET) sensor, based on reduced graphene oxide (rGO)-polyfuran (PF) nanocomposites. This FET sensor showed the hole transporting behavior that is called p-type sensor. The conductivity of the rGO-PF NT hybrid was higher than that of rGO and PF NTs. The real-time responses of the FET-type Hg2+ sensor were so rapid that is less than 1 sec. Immediate signal changes were observed in the wide range of Hg2+ ion concentrations from 10 pM to 100 nM that means the detection limit of Hg2+ was approximately 10 pM. Moreover, these nanocomposites have also highly selectivity of the rGO-PF hybrids toward Hg2+. Remarkable detection of Hg2+ was monitored in the metal ions mixture that very low concentrations of Hg2+ ions were mixed with in the analyte. |
