제목 Hexagonal Phase Induced by Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes in a Polymeric System and Their Lyotropic and Thermotropic Phase Behaviors
초록 For practical applications of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs), a simple and easy method to fabricate well-organized SWNT superstructures is required. Amphiphilic molecules such as polymers can provide structural templates for well-organized SWNT superstructures due to their rich phase behavior. Here, we report SWNT induced lyotropic and thermotropic phase behaviors in Pluronic/water system. SAXS measurements of Pluronic/water and Pluronic-SWNT/water dispersions at different concentrations were performed to characterize the difference of phase behavior. In lyotropic phase behavior, clear contrast of phase behavior between polymer/water (iso-BCC-lam) and polymer-SWNT/water (iso-hex-FCC-BCC-lam) was observed, indicating newly induced hexagonal and FCC phase by SWNT. In thermotropic phase behavior, SWNT-induced hexagonal phase were observed from 20~40 wt% concentration. Their hexagonal phases were maintained even the phase was changed by temperature increase.
