제목 Silicon nanoparticles for printable electronics: Synthesis and charge transport studies
초록 Nanosized Silicon (Si) in different forms like porous silicon, free-standing nanocrystals, nanowires and nanorods has attracted large interest due to its unique chemical, electrical and opto-electronic properties. Growing interest in flexible displays in macro-electronics makes nano-Si highly desirable. Printable electronics is one lucrative prospect to assemble such devices, as advanced printing processes are available nowadays along with the traditional processes. Amorphous silicon nanoparticles are synthesized by chemical reduction method and its optical properties are studied by UV-visible and Photoluminescence spectroscopy. Additionally, Crystalline silicon nanoparticles (size < 5 nm) are synthesized at room temperature by the decomposition of silicon sulfide (SiS¬2) in a water-acid mixture followed by chemical etching. For the preparation of a functional Si-nanoparticle dispersion, the silicon nanoparticle suspension is prepared by re-dispersing in suitable solvents and binder. The charge transport mechanism in the silicon nanoparticles is studied and its application is demonstrated in schottky diode.
