In order to improve optical performance of green color filters, structurally isomeric tetra-substituted zinc-phthlaocyanine dyes were synthesized. Precursors were prepared by nucleophilic aromatic substitution reaction between nitrophthalonitrile and three kinds of phenols. The substituent, 4-allyl-2-methoxyphenol or 2-allyl-6-methoxyphenol, was introduced at the peripheral position in order to improve affinity with binder and solubility of the phthalocyanine. Zn was chosen as coordination metal, to increase thermal stability and to fine-tune the spectral property of the complex. Structure analysis of synthesized dyes were confirmed by NMR, MALDI-TOF, IR and elemental analysis. For application of PCs to LCD color filter, Solubility in industrial and common organic solvents were tested. In addition, spectral and thermal properties of PCs were investigated by UV-vis spectrometer, TGA and DSC. |
