Poly (3-hexylthiophene, P3HT), representative of conjugated polymers, has been extensively investigated due to its electrical properties, stability, and solution-processability applicable to organic field-effect transistors, chemical sensors, and photovoltaic solar cells. As electronic elements, simultaneous control of nanoscale morphology and chain alignment has been critical issue because of anisotropic charge transport in conjugated polymers. Here, we fabricated ultrahigh density arrays of P3HT nanotube via solution wetting in nanoporous template. It is found that the P3HT nanotube array has enhanced (010) planar structure due to π-π interchain stacking perpendicular to the substrate. As a result of this enhanced molecular ordering, the conductivity was higher about 8 times than that of the continuous film. |
