제목 Thermal and Mechanical properties of Red Algae Fiber/Poly(butylene succinate) Biocomposites
초록 We investigated the red algae as a reinforcement of biocomposite. Biocomposites were prepared by pulverized thermoplastic biodegradable polymer, poly(butylene succinate) with red algae fiber(RAF). Thermal and mechanical properties of biocomposites were analyzed and compared to those of cellulose-based fiber reinforced biocomposites. The red algae fiber showed very similar peaks to cellulose on the XRD/FT-TR analysis. RAF showed higher thermal stability with the thermal decomposition temperature of 359.32℃. The highest storage modulus can be obtained with the biocomposite reinforced with 50wt% of red algae fiber. Flexural properties of biocomposite reinforced with RAF are comparing to those of cellulose-based fiber reinforced biocomposites.
