Sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) has higher mechanical property and controllable membrane property compared to commercial Nafion. SPEEK, however, have critical problem in solvation in water at high degree of sulfonation, which limits its application to electrochemical devices. In this study, we introduced diamine-functionalized monomers as crosslinkers to enhance dimensional stability and maintain its ability as ion exchange membrane. The crosslinked membrane was fabricated into ionic polymer-metal composite (IPMC) actuator, and was seen as possible candidate which can replace commercial Nafion membrane. |
