Enhancement of electrochemical performance of polyacrylic acid binders via substitution of the conducting polymers in LIBs |

In LIBs, binder systems are composed of polymer materials that hold active materials with current collectors to provide routes for electron transfer in electrodes. The importance of binders has recently increased because the binder material was found to be a crucial factor for enhancing the cyclic performance of anode materials such as silicon and its composites. The polyacrylic acid is promising material as binder of Si or Si-alloy anode, especially. As adding a conducting polymer such as polyaniline, polypyrrole and PEDOT, a conductivity of electrode can increase. In this study, we look into characteristics of modified polyacrylic acid binder. The prepared electrodes are subjected to electrochemical analysis such as cyclic voltammetry, cycling and impedance. Also, we verified the binder through FT-IR, DSC and etc. |
