제목 | Effect of Sulfactant on the Electro-optical Properties of Reflective HPDLC |
초록 | We studied the effects of sulfactant on the electro-optic properties of reflective holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystal(HPDLC). Octanoic acid(OA) and vinyl neononanoate(VN) were used as sulfactants. 2,2,2 trifluoroethyl acrylate(TFEA) was added to the monomer mixture to enhance the phase separation and improve optical properties. The content of sulfactant and LC have been systematically varied for HPDLC. The morphology of holographic gratings is examined using atomic force microscopy(AFM) and electro-optic properties were measured using a UV-visible spectroscopy. Real time measurements of grating fabrication have been obtained according to the content of sulfactant and LC. Addition of sulfactant was likely to reduce the surface anchoring of the nematic droplet with the polymer surface which favors lowering of the swiching field and to improve the optical qualities. |
