Nowadays PEDOT:PSS is widely used as a hole transporting material and transparent electrode in organic electronic devices. Pristine PEDOT:PSS thin films show a moderate electrical conductivity of the order of 10-1~101 S/cm. These values can be modulated by addition of polar solvents or post-treatment with acid/base materials. PEDOT:PSS is in the category of hole transporting materials. When treatment with acids, PEDOT:PSS becomes more p-doped, resulting in a higher conductivity. On the other hand, by a base treatment, PEDOT:PSS shows less conductive characteristics due to the reduced number of holes. In this work, we present the modulation of charge transport properties of PEDOT:PSS by using organic compounds containing amine groups. Average conductivity of amine treated films are modulated from 2 to less than 0.01 S/cm, We investigated the optical absorption of thin films and analyzed the I-V characteristics to reveal how the amine treatment affects the thin film properties. |
