In this work, mesoporous Si/carbon core-shell composites for lithium ion storage materials were prepared using mesoporous silica template. Mesoporous silicon can accommodate large strains without pulverization and this particles facilitate faster transport and better intercalation kinetics of lithium ions. Our approach was reduction of SiCl4 to silicon in the presence of mesoporous silica. And the structure and morphological characteristics of the composites were studied by XRD and TEM. Electrochemical properties of the composites were evaluated by cyclic voltammetry, AC impedance spectroscopy, and galvanostatic charge/discharge techniques. |
