Polyaniline (PANI) nanotubes that can be used as counter electrodes in dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) were prepared onto FTO glass in the presence of 4-sulfobenzoic acid monopotassium salt (KSBA) by in situ polymerization method. The surface morphology and thickness of PANI layers were adjusted various polymerization conditions such as polymerization times, temperatures and monomer to KSAB ratio, which was investigated using SEM and AFM techniques. Nano-tubular PANI allowed the electrons to move into the PANI layer readily and facilitated the electrocatalytic reaction of the I3-/I- redox couple, giving low charge transfer resistance and enhanced power conversion efficiency. |
