The dimerization reaction of bicyclo[2,2,1]hepta-2,5-diene by a system of catalyst was investigated. With the system of catalyst, which consists of rhodium (III) acetylacetonate and diethylaluminum chloride (DEAC), the hexacyclic exo-endo stereoisomer was obtained as a main product. The co-presence of aluminum chloride enhances the activity of the catalytic system based on Rh(acac)3 significantly at the low molar ratio of DEAC to Rh(acac)3. However, at the high molar ratio of DEAC to Rh(acac)3, the effect of AlCl3 is not pronounced |
