제목 Morphology control of self-assembled structure from dilute polyethylene solution
초록 Morphology of polymer crystal has attracted an attention due to scientific interest in 1960-70’s, where the polymer crystal was obtained by crystallization from the melt and the solution. Highly crystalline polyethylene (PE) forms self-assembled and micro-sized crystal from dilute solution. We believe that this crystal can be useful for encapsulating nano-materials which is sensitive to humidity, oxygen and high temperature environment because PE exhibits barrier properties to them. Here we studied morphology of the self-assembled crystal of PE and its oxidative derivatives. The crystal was grown from dilute solution with quenching method because solution crystallization controls diversely and easily the morphology. The morphology has been studied by scanning and transmission electron microscope and X-ray diffraction.
