A hybrid nanocomposites containing poly(L-lactide) (PLLA) and polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) was prepared by solvent casting method for enhancement of mechanical properties of PLLA. Two types of PLLAPOSS additives were synthesized via the ring-opening polymerization of L-lactide and POSS in different content and mixed with PLLA matrix to make composites that can show significant improvement in mechanical properties. Polymer composite without intermolecular interaction between POSS and PLLA matrix was fabricated by physical blending and used as control. The nanocomposites composition and their properties were investigated by 1H-NMR, FTIR, SEM, DSC and XRD. Also, Protein adsorption and platelet adhesion confirmed the biocompatibility of these nanocomposites. |
