Poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-trifluoroethylene) have been widely investigated due to potential for non-volatile ferroelectric polymer memory. P(VDF—TrFE) thin film obtained from spin-coating with subsequent thermal annealing is composed of randomly oriented semi-crystalline lamellar. For the high device performance, it is essential to control molecular structure. A great of efforts have been devoted to orientation of lamellar. However, to obtain well orientation polymer lamellar not only in thin film with nanoscale thickness but also in the large area is difficult. Here, we introduce a new process applicable for thin film to control molecular microstructure. This method is the simple static shearing P(VDF-TrFE) thin film with the apparatus we designed. Using this method, we gained well oriented polymer lamellar in very large area. GIWAXS results described the c-axis was directly affected along shear direction. Also it showed good performance as capacitor. |
