제목 The preparation of electrospun carbon fibers with hydrogen uptake
초록 Fossil fuel has been used to make energy for mankind for a long period. Overuse of fossil fuel has been resulted in side effects such as air pollution and green house effect, resulting in developing alternative resources. Hydrogen energy is a good alternative for fossil fuels in view of environment and high efficient utilization. Many researches on carbon materials such as activated carbon, mesoporous carbon, and fibrous carbon have been investigated on hydrogen adsorption due to their adsorption properties with their surface morphology. Electrospinning is a method of making fibers whose diameters range from nanometers to microns resulting in having high specific surface area. Carbon materials formed by electrospun fibers make it possible to have good hydrogen storage capacity.
In this study, we tried to confirm of structure and surface of electrospun carbon fiber with heat treatment condition. The precursors for electrospun carbon fibers were polyimide(PI) and polyacrylonitrile(PAN). The electrospun carbon fibers were formed by carbonization process. Structural change and surface of heat-treated electrospun carbon fibers were measured by X-ray diffraction, TEM, SEM, and AFM. The hydrogen adsorption capacity was measured by adsorbed weight in the electrospun carbon fiber with high pressure.
