제목 Structural changes of TiO2 Nanoparticles by UV irradiation
초록 Titanium dioxide nanoparticles have been investigated due to their attractive optical and semiconductive properties for biosensors, electronic devices, photosensitizers, and photocatalysts. Those properties of titanium dioxide nanoparticle are depended on their size, shape and crystal structure. In this work, TiO2 nanoparticles were prepared in ethanol (2% acetic acid) solution by sol-gel method using titanium isopropoxide as a precursor. The average size of TiO2 nanoparticles was 7nm in diameter. By irradiation of UV light to the TiO2 colloidal solution, the TiO2 nanoparticles were dramatically changed from sphere to square, ranging from 7 nm to 50-150 nm. To be discussed in the presentation is how to control titanium dioxide nanoparticles in their size and shape.
