제목 | Synthesis and Properties of Star-shaped Poly(ethylene glycol)/Poly(ε-caprolactone) Block Copolymers |
초록 | Most polymeric micells for Drug Delivery System (DDS) are composed of hydrophobic segments as the internal core and hydrophilic segments as the outer shell. The hydrophobic core serves as a reservior for hydrophobic drugs, whereas the hydrophilic shell stablizes the micells. In particular, biodegrdable aliphatic polyesters combined with poly(ethylene glycol) have been used for these applications. To investige the architectual effect of poly(ε-caprolactone)/poly(ethylene glycol) block copolymers on drug loading, amphiphilic star copolymers having poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) as the hydrophobic inner core and poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether (mPEG) as the hydrophilic outer part was prepared. Different molecular weight of amphiphilic diblock copolymers were synthesized by ring opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone in the presence of poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether (mPEG) (M.W=5000 g/mol) and catalytic amount of stannous octoate. Star-shaped block copolymers were prepared by coupling of diblock copolymer using 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid. These copolymers were characterized by using SEC, NMR, DSC, FTIR. Solution behavior of star-shaped copolymers was investigated and compared with diblock copolymer.. |
