제목 Syntheses and degradability of novel chitin-g-poly(L-lactide) copolymer
초록 Biodegradable polymers have been extensively used in a variety of medical field applications because secondary surgery is not required for implant removal. Especially, polylactides have been applied for these purposes because of their good biodegradability, biocompatibility, high mechanical strength, and excellent shaping and molding properties.
In this study, the reaction of ring opening polymerization (ROP) of L-lactide was studied by two kinds of method. First, poly(L-lactide)(PLLA) was synthesized by bulk polymerization using stannous octoate. Second, a novel biodegradable chitin-g-poly(L-lactide)(PLLA) was synthesized by the ROP reaction of L-lactide using chitin as a macroinitiator in the N,N-dimethyl acetamide (DMAc)/ lithium chloride (LiCl) solvent system to afford new material. And lithium chloride (LiCl) was used as catalyst. The synthesized PLLA was characterized by Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), cross polarization-magic angle spinning (CP-MAS) 13C solid state NMR, differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). And also, the synthesized copolymer chitin-g-PLLA was characterized by FT-IR and DSC. The in vitro degradation (with lysozyme or without lysozyme) wes investigated at 37→ in a pH=7.38 phosphate buffer solution. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to study the morphological changes of chitin, chitn-g- PLLA, and synthesized PLLA during degradation.
