제목 Synthesis of poly(hexafluoropropylene oxide) using heptafluoroisopropyl methyl ether for dilution
초록 In this study, we will discuss series of synthesized polyHFPO by combination of catalyst, continuously charging HFPO, and heptafluoroisopropyl methyl ether (HFIPME). Reference prepared in bulk process without solvent was also introduced for comparison. Average molecular weight of polyHFPO was characterized by 19F-NMR and GC. The chain transfer parameter was carefully calculated using the ratio of theory molecular weight and number average molecular weight determined by 19F NMR. According to experimental results, chain transfer reaction of perfluoroalky alkoxide was decreased at low temperature than high temperature. Fluorinated solvents adapted for aiding of heat transfer and reducing viscosity attributed to the significant reduction of chain transfer. Further, average molecular weight of 3835 was observed in polyHFPO prepared in presence of HFIPME of 50 mL.
