제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Well-Defined Fluorene Oligomers
초록 Great interest has recently been devoted to well-defined monodisperse ∏-conjugated oligomers due to their defect free structures for electronic devices such as organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic thin film transistors (OTFTs), light emitting electrochemical cells. Also, oligomers can be used as model compounds for understanding the fundamental properties of their analogous polydisperse polymers. Among them, oligofluorenes are important model compounds for polyfluorenes, which show extremely high photo and electroluminescence, quantum yield, and thermal and oxidative stability as efficient blue light emitting materials. In this work, well-defined monodispersed oligofluorines were synthesized by a palladium catalyzed Suzuki coupling reaction. Optical properties for these oligofluorenes and corresponding polymer have been characterized using UV/Vis absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy. Limiting conjugation length (n) for the polyfluorene was estimated from the absorption spectra. Also, their thermal properties, including liquid crystallinity, were also characterized with the polarized optical microscope and DSC.
