An attempt was made to produce bioethanol from ammonia pretreated waste oak wood by SSF. Aqueous ammonia is efficient to fraction carbohydrates to delignify in hard woods. Futher more, ammonia could be easily recovered due to it's volatile nature. In this research, the reaction temperature and pressure were varied from 212F to 392F, 200psig to 300psig, in order to find optimum pretreatment condition of waste oak wood. Liquor and residual solid were produced by ARP, and they were analyzed each composition. Hemicellulose (Xylose) was mainly recovered in liquor part and most of glucan was collected in residual solid part. A couple of experiment of ethanol production was conducted. First was direct ethanol fermentation of liquor containing Xylose mainly. Also, second was SSF of residual solid. |
