Lithium-ion batteries (LIB) is one of promising energy storage equipment, due to its high power and energy density. However, the safety of liquid electrolyte-based LIB show insufficient performance. The problems are caused by organic solvents in forms of leakage and thermal runaway. In order to enhance overcome this problem, solid electrolyte were suggested. However, solid electrolytes have limitation to apply actual application due to a low ionic conductivity. The proposed electrolytes are consisted of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)-imide (EMITFSI) and cross-linked polyethylene glycol. The EMITFSI are selected as an embedding ionic liquid for Li-ion transport medium due to their high ionic conductivity. The EMITFSI is good plasticizer to increase ionic conductivity of polymer. The LIB using the polymer composite electrolyte show high ionic conductivity of 3.5 × 10-1 mS cm-1 and high discharge capacity at room temperature. |
