제목 | Close-loop type of ordering transition for a Diblock copolymer melt |
초록 | Block copolymers have lamellar (LAM), hexagonally packed cylinders (HEX), and body centered cubic (BCC) microdomains depending upon the block length ratio as well as temperature. Almost all block copolymers, for instance, polystyene-block-polyisoprene, poly(ethyl ethylene)-block-poly(ethyl propylene), have the order to disorder transition (UODT) upon heating, whereas PS-block-poly(n-butyl methacrylate) copolymer has the disorder to order transition (LCOT) upon heating. In this study, we report for the first time the existence of simultaneous LCOT at lower temperatures and UCOT at higher temperatures, namely close loop type of ordering transition, in the aid of synchrotron small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), rheometry, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
