Inherent properties and Interfacial Evaluation of single FiberReinforced Epoxy Composites at Cryogenic Temperature |
초록 |
Interfacial properties of carbon or glass fibers reinforced epoxy composites were evaluated at cryogenic temperature using micromechanical techniques. Apparent modulus can provide important information on epoxy modulus as well as the effect of fiber on the interfacial adhesion. Interfacial shear strength (IFSS) between glass fiber and epoxy YDF-175 was investigated at different temperature ranges as lower as -100°C. All IFSS at low temperatures were higher than room temperature, and it exhibited a slight decline as the temperature decreased to low range. In general for The correlation between wettabilty and interfacial adhesion, the better wettability, the better interfacial adhesion. Other parameters can also contribute to the interfacial adhesion seriously as well.
