TiO2 nanostructures have been studied as promising candidates for optoelectronic applications. As an effective method for generating nanostructures, nanostructures of diblock copolymers have been investigated because they self-assemble into periodic nanostructures, the size and morphology of which can be easily controlled by the molecular weight and composition of copolymers. We employed diblock copolymer templates to fabricate TiO2 nanostructures with the sol-gel method. The nanostructures of diblock copolymers were generated on the neutralized substrate. After selective removal of one of the blocks, we obtained the polymer nanotemplates, which allowed the fabrication of TiO2 nanostructures by the sol-gel method. We decorated such TiO2 nanostructures with Au nanoparticles using diblock copolymer micelles. The hybridized nanostructures can be applied to practical applications including nanoelectrodes in photovoltaic cells and water-splitting reactions. |
