Carbon dioxide (CO2) which classified as a pollutant caused of greenhouse effect has taken center stage in the environmental arena recently. Herein, we suggest one preparation method of alkylene carbonate in order to contribute to green growth. The transformation of CO2 into alkylene carbonates has received much attention with regard to the utilization of CO2, responsible for global warming. In this study, Propylene carbonate has been prepared by the coupling reaction of propylene oxide with carbon dioxide in the presence of catalyst that HPC(Honam Petrochemical) co-worked with KIST(Korea Institute of Science and Technology). It is very economical method due to reducing reaction time, pressure, temperature. This proposed approach is expected to play an important role for green growth. |
