Conducting polymer, Poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly (styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) has been commonly used as a hole transport layer or anode in organic electronic devices. PEDOT:PSS films have higher work functions (~5.0–5.2 eV) than that of ITO (Indium tin oxide, ~4.9 eV), and the hole injection could be still a limiting factor in device performance. To overcome a large hole injection barrier between anode and organic layer, the modification of work function of PEDOT:PSS is needed in order to achieve high performance of eletronic applications. In this study, we report the synthesis of conducting polymer PEDOT:P(SS-co-TFPMA) with different mole ratio of Poly(Styrene Sulfonate) and TFPMA (Tetrafluoropropylmethacylate) for tune of work function by controlling the chemical composition without adding any chemicals and applying extra treatment. Furthermore, the synthesis process is one great method to tune the work function with maintain of the electrical conductivity. |
