제목 Langmuir-Blodgett Study on the Behavior of AmphiphilicTriblock Copolymer Chains
초록 Recently, the importance of nano-scale systems is getting bigger and self-assembly of amphiphilic block copolymers has been considered as an effective way to build nano-patterns or templates. However, theoretic explanation of many of the properties and behaviors of materials in 2-d has not been available yet. Therefore, we have focused our research on understanding spatial restriction and its effect on block copolymers’ self-assembly. We studied the compression-induced aggregation of PS/PMMA block copolymers at the A/W interface. We expected to find various morphologies such are found in the spin-coated films or bulk. But only circular ones were observed. So we concluded that confinements upon the conformational changes become much more significant in 2-d than it is in 3-d. Along with the AFM images, we suggest a mechanism of film formation of triblock copolymers. We also investigated the thermal effect on the chain behavior and quantified it through 2-d Clausius-Clapeyron equations.
