Studies on Ion and Solvent Transport through Amphoteric Ion-Exchange Membrane |

Transport propertiws of amphoteric ion exchange membrane-aqueous sodium chloride system have been studied. The six elements of a conductance matrix phenomenological coefficients have been and the membrane properties were discussed in term of the conductance are ca. ten times greater than the electrical ion conductances and the ion-solvent correlation in the transport processes is much less than the interionic correlation. A failure of the Nernst-Einstein relation as well as Despic and Hills equation for the electroosmotic effect on the membrane conductance was also pointe out. |
