we evaluated a new material, cobalt oxide doped TiO2 to reduce the large band gap of pure TiO2. To investigate the structural effect of the catalyst on photocatalysis, cobalt oxide doped TiO2 photocatalysts with anatase and rutile structures were prepared using liquidphaseplasma method. The EDS and XPS results showed that cobalt element was existed in the form of CoO and CoTiO3. The bandgap energy of cobalt oxide doped TiO2photocatalyst was found tobe lower than bare TiO2 because of cobalt oxide. Under the blue-LED lamp, cobalt oxide doped TiO2 powder had the photocatalytic activity for degradation of AO7, whereas the photocatalytic activity for TiO2 was not observed. The degradation of AO7 using cobalt oxide doped TiO2 powder photocatalyst under blue-LED lamp was increased with increasing the dissipated power of lamp as well as the dosage of phtocatalyst. |
