Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) / 4,4-methylenebis(phenyl isocyanate) (MDI)-modified silica nanocomposites containing 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0wt% respectively were prepared by using in-situ polymerization. MDI was used as coupling agent to enhance interfacial adhesion between PET matrix and silica particles. The thermal, crystallization behavior and mechanical properties of fabricated nanocomposites confirmed through the DSC and Tensile testing machine (Instron 4465). TEM images showed the dispersibility of silica nanoparticles in PET matrix. |
