Here, we have rationally designed and synthesized two red-emitting Ir (III) complexes, denoted as (EO-CVz-PhQ)2Ir(pic), and (EO-CVz-PhQ)2Ir(pic-OXD) based on carbazole (CVz)-phenylquinoline (PhQ) as main ligand and picolinic acid-linked OXD (pic-OXD) as ancillary ligands for highly efficient phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PhOLEDs). Their thermal, photophysical, electrochemical, and electroluminescent (EL) properties are studied. Both the Ir(III) complexes have shown high thermal stability, and exhibit deep-red emission with high quantum yield. In particular, (EO-CVz-PhQ)2Ir(pic-OXD) has shown high quantum yield than (EO-CVz-PhQ)2Ir(pic). When utilized these two complexes in high-performance solution-processable PhOLEDs, they delivered an excellent device performance. |
