As an environmentally friendly material polymer composite reinforced with natural fiber, biocomposite, has been studying actively worldwide. We have studied thermomechanical properties of biocomposite in order to investigate the reinforcement effect on dimensional stability of biocomposite. We prepared biocomposites using compression molding method with henequen or silk fiber reinforcements, respectively. Also, we irradiated henequen fiber with electron beam of different dose and analyzed the EBI effect on the thermomechanical property of biocomposite. The effect of EBI treatment on henequen fiber shows a good agreement between thermomechanical, dynamic mechanical and interfacial properties of biocomposites. |
