A study of CO2 absorption capacity in sulfonate series |

Generally, the anion has a greater influence on the property of ionic liquids.More recently, a new type of ionic liquid, like a zwitterionic liquid composed of covalently tethered cations and anions, has been developed in which the ions do not migrate along a potential gradient.Ionic liquids have been used as a new type of highly efficient electrolyte. Especially, ionic liquids based on sulfonate are using chemical absorption agents for separating CO2 gas and other gases. In this work, we tested CO2 absorption capacity of various sulfonate ionic liquids. We used cylindrical equilibrium cell for absorption test to observed CO2 absorption capacity in various sulfonate ionic liquids.In cylindrical equilibrium cell experiments, operating pressure is about 0~300 bar.Carrier gas for experiments is CO2 . |
