제목 Equilibrium structures of spherical surface micelles at air/water interface : morphological control by shifting free energy minima
초록 Diblock copolymers that consist of hydrophobic and hydrophilic blocks are spread at the air/water interface to spontaneously form self-assembled structures called surface micelle where hydrophobic chains are aggregated to form a core, surrounded by a corona of hydrophilic chains. Size and ordering of the micelle are strongly influenced by the concentration of spreading solvent. As the concentration becomes smaller, the micelle gets close to equilibrium state, which is predicted by free energy consideration of single micelle model. From the prediction, the equilibrium can also be shifted by addition of homopolymers so as to control the size of core and intermicellar distance, which will be useful for nanopatterning technology.
