For the application of plastic substrate, gate dielectric and liquid alignment layer, etc, there has been increasing interests for colorless polyimide film. In this presentation, we report successful synthesis of colorless polyimide polymers using the monomers of alicyclic dianhydrides and aromatic diamines. Structure-property relationship of synthesized colorless polyimide and the effect of methyl substituent were examined. Surface hardness, transmittance, solubility, dielectric constant, coefficient of thermal expansion and glass transition temperature of synthesized colorless polyimide film were measured. The transmittance of 1㎛ thickness of polyimide films was above 90% at 400 nm wavelength and the glass transition temperature of the film was observed at 300℃. Detailed synthetic routes and various characterizations of film property will be presented. |
