Synthesis of pH-sensitive poly(ethylene oxide) -b- poly(1-vinyl imidazole) and its application |
초록 |
We have successfully synthesized water-soluble block copolymer exhibiting pH-responsive phase transition behavior via transformation reaction from anionic to RAFT radical. We first synthesized ω-brominated poly(ethylene oxide) by living anionic ring opening polymerization of ethylene oxide, followed by synthesis of PEO-based RAFT agent. RAFT radical polymerization of 1-vinyl imidazole(VI) for preparation of block copolymer was performed in DMF at 110 ℃ for 72 h. After precipitating in diethyl ether, unreacted RAFT agent was removed via selective precipitation in THF. All the products were dried in vaccum oven at room temperature for at least 48 h and then characterized by 1H-NMR and size exclusion chromatographic analysis. The resulting block copolymer exhibited pH-sensitive phase transition. PEO -b- PVIm was used as a polymeric stabilizer for preparation of nano-sized iron oxide particles. |
