Polymeric drug carriers are generally recognized by the macrophages of the mononuclear phagocyte system (MPS). However, the long-circulating carriers is possible by modifying the surface of particulate carriers with hydrophilic, flexible, and nonionic polymers, such as poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG). Biodegradable block copolymer was synthesized by condensation polymerization mPEG cyanoacetate with hexadecyl cyanoacetate. The block copolymer particles were prepared by nanoprecipitation method. The copolymers were characterized by FT-IR, 1HNMR, dynamic light scattering, zeta potential, electron microscope. Fluorescent-activated cell sorting and confocal image analysis carried out for confirming celluar uptake.
