In this study, the effect of MoO3 content on the mechanical properties of carbon-carbon composites (C/C composites) was investigated in the presence of MoO3. The content of MoO3 was varied in 0, 5, 10, 20, and 30 wt.% on the basis of resin matrix for anti-oxidation properties of the composites. The mechanical interfacial properties of the composites were studied in interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) and critical stress intensity factor (KIC). In this work, the oxidation behavior of carbon-carbon composites with MoO3 as an oxidation inhibitor was investigated up to the temperature range of 1000oC in an air environment. As a result, the composites made with MoO3 resulted in an increase of anti-oxidation properties of the composites compared to those without MoO3. |
